Tabuk City takes a leap toward Innovation with First Smart City Project

Tabuk, a progressive city in the province of Kalinga, has embarked on its journey to becoming a Smart City with the establishment of its first-ever Business Intelligence Research and Development Center (BIRD-C). The groundbreaking initiative was announced during the Matagoan Festival’s Solidarity and Awards Night, held on July 24, 2023, at the Tabuk People’s Gymnasium.

Mayor Darwin Estrañero, along with several government agencies and universities, including DOST, DICT, DILG, Isabela State University, and Kalinga State University, signed a memorandum of understanding to formalize the said partnership. The city’s Vice Mayor, Dick Bal-o, and other key officials were present to witness this significant milestone in Tabuk’s technological advancement.
