Aimed to propel Tuguegarao City toward becoming a model smart city by integrating advanced technologies and sustainable practices, the Department of Science and Technology Region II, led by Engr. Jayferson D. Mabborang, OIC-Provincial Director of DOST PSTO Cagayan and the City Planning and Development Office (CPDO) of LGU Tuguegarao City, recently conducted the Capacity Development and Workshop on Smart City Roadmap Formulation on June 20, 2024.

Active participation in discussions and feedback from the participants reflected the support of the participants in the smart city transformation.
The initiative showcased DOST Region 02’s commitment to set Tuguegarao as one of the precedents for other Philippine cities to follow and demonstrate the transformative potential of smart city initiatives. By equipping the city with knowledge on approaching smart cities, the city and the province will not be left behind with the national agenda to transform every city into thriving smart communities.
